At approximately 4:12pm on Thursday March 9, 2023, the Red Bank Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at The Colony House, 122 Riverside Avenue. Upon arrival, 68 confirmed heavy smoke from a third floor apartment with a confirmed structure fire. 68 established command. Upon arrival, 66, Chief Hartman assumed command. The fire was contained to the initial unit, with units released approximately two hours later. The entire building was treated for smoke. Responding Units included 66, 67, 68, 95, 91, 96, 93, Rescue 2, Fire Police, and the RBFD Rehab Unit. Chief Hartman and the RBFD would particularly like to thank the surrounding Department's that responded in mutual aid: Tinton Falls Fire Dept, Little Silver Fire Dept, Little Silver EMS, Middletown Station 9 RIT, and the Fair Haven Air Unit.
